So, in the body, Natural Killer Cells circulate and destroy suspicious cells (e.g. cancer cells, viruses). However! The immune system, when activated, have T-cells and T-cells have a subdivision called cytotoxic t-cells which directly destroy antigens in the body. These little guys are paired up with CD-8’s!
Thus, NKC’s are the FBI of the body and cytotoxic T-cells are the SWAT team’s sniper shooters.This is how I coped with pathophysiology last year… It helped quite a lot!
