Now RAD Level 6 :). Not bad since I was RAD 1-5 for about 6 months. 2 more levels until pointe!!! :D. Course things are faster at the adult level as we learn a little faster. Now comes the hard stuff X_X. I wish I had the ability to ‘mold’ like the younger dancers have. Older dancers can only work with what they have for an adult body…they cannot influence its development. On Pique Turns. Love turns! My teacher says people either love them or hate them. Also doing prep work to strengthen for pointe. Lots of demi-pointe exercises which I love and am great at. Still hate sautes and 3rd arabesques.
No ballet this week since I really beat up my feet wearing low heels for half a day. Got 8 blisters in total. My birthday was as it always is —crappy. Had a ridiculous amount of blood taken for testing and had radioactive dye injected for my bone scan. Still living off of peanut EI money. Mind you I’m grateful for the tiny amount I’m getting as it just covers the loan payments and my medication. I’ve had to tell myself no to spending money cause I really really cannot afford it. I think growing up poor and suddenly having money after graduation affected me for the worst. I could finally buy my family nice things and get myself things I never dreamed of owning. My debt is slowly decreasing. Slower this year thanks to over $3,000 worth of work needed on the car, increase in medication needed and my constant sick leaves. I’d love to do some more cosplays but I already spent a lot on Padme. Really want to do Fate Zero/Stay Night Saber, Catwoman, Phoenix (again), Stocking, Myu Sailor Saturn, Claire Redfield, Chun Li and if I ever lose enough weight — Kitana (though not the MK9 one. It’s pretty but too much skin for me. Her MK verses DC one most likely. Loved her since MKII came out. Still my fav MK girl).
My 2nd Arabesque is improving ^__^. It actually looks elegant now! Still working on pique turn pre-work. Turn out is better and arms are flowing better. Splits are improving too. All Battements are improving. Glissade is okay when traveling right. Left leg is still the weaker leg though causing issues when it is the working leg (it’s a good support but terrible working). I used to love Sautes but I hate them now as I have no stamina after about 3. I’m strong on demi-pointe and can balance for a decent length of time but start to topple if I stay in sur le cou-de-pied for too long with left as working leg.
It will be another month as I wait the results for more blood work, X-Rays and Scans regarding my not-yet-diagnosed auto-immune disease. My Rheumatologist is stumped as my symptoms do not give a clear-cut diagnosis. Very sore from her poking every single joint and muscle and doing ROM exercises to see what hurts.
I’ve tried to contact work but am getting ignored. May have to be more drastic so I’m not accused of ‘severing’ my contract during medical LOA. EI is finally coming in but quickly disappears to my student loans/car/car insurance and my medications/treatments. Brain is going to mush. Thank God I have Ballet to distract me. Can’t afford more than one lesson a week though.
P.S. Wooooooot Polaris. Excited to see everyone. NOT excited for the drive back and forth. Really hope I am not allergic to the sheets at the Best Western. I normally don’t stay in cheaper hotels because of my bleach allergy.
